It takes a slightly irreverent look at how Heaven is managed, celestial politics included, and what happens to some of the angels when they run into issues with their jobs, encounter especially attractive humans, or are tempted by a life outside their very demanding jobs.

This second volume, Zuriel's Fate, is about senior guardian angel, Zuriel, who is on his way to a promotion when he discovers he doesn't want to do his job the way his superiors tell him to do it. He no longer wants to forego any kind of emotional attachment to the humans he is in charge of. After all, what's the point of his job when he isn't allowed to connect with those he protects? When he runs into Luke, a bad boy who runs his deceased father's motorcycle dealership and repair shop, he is supposed to guide Luke's soul into the next life. He finds he can;t do it and refuses. Will they be able to escape punishment or will the celestial justice system catch up with them and banish Zuriel into the void?
